Terms and Conditions
These are our Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a purchase or booking a workshop.
These Terms apply to all purchases made through Local Art Shop Ltd, whether online or in store, and to all workshops and classes delivered by us.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The version published at the time of purchase or booking will apply.
Retail Purchases
Shipping
We offer free UK Mainland P&P on orders over £40.
Additional charges apply for items over 2kg being shipped to Highlands and Islands. Please see our Shipping page for a full breakdown of charges.
“Get It Faster” postage is offered on smaller items. This is a non-guaranteed 1–2 day service and is an upgrade from Royal Mail 48 Tracked to either Royal Mail 24 Tracked or courier service, depending on what we consider the most appropriate option.
Payment
Payment will be taken via PayPal at the time of purchase.
Alternatively, you are welcome to visit our Nottingham store and pay in person with cash or other accepted methods.
VAT
All prices listed on this site include the current UK rate of VAT.
All prices are shown in GBP (£).
Guarantee
It is our policy to ensure that all products sold by us are delivered in good condition and within the manufacturer’s quality tolerances.
If goods arrive damaged, incorrect or faulty, please notify us within 14 days of receipt.
Returning Goods
If goods arrive damaged, incorrect or faulty, please notify us within 5 days of receipt. We will arrange replacement or refund, including delivery costs where appropriate.
If you decide not to keep your order, please notify us within 14 days of receipt and return the goods in original condition within 14 days for a refund.
Before returning any goods, please contact us on 0115 9401721 or email sales@localartshop.co.uk to obtain an authorisation number. This number must be clearly marked on the outside of the package. Goods returned without authorisation may not be accepted.
If goods are faulty or sent in error, return costs will be refunded. If returned for any other reason, return postage is the customer’s responsibility.
We reserve the right to charge a relisting fee where items are returned due to failed delivery attempts.
Items removed from original packaging may be subject to deductions if returned.
Liability (Retail)
Liability cannot be accepted for any damage caused by use of materials supplied by us.
Compensation for faulty goods is limited to the value of the goods purchased. We cannot be liable for consequential losses or delivery delays, although we will always do our utmost to ensure goods arrive on time and in good condition.
Lost Items
You must inform us within 21 days of purchase if items have not been delivered so we can investigate and file claims if necessary.
We cannot be held liable for losses reported after 21 days from purchase.
Promotional Codes & Discounts
Discounts and promotions may be withdrawn at any time without prior notice.
Only one promotional code may be used per order unless otherwise stated. Offers are one use per customer.
We reserve the right to cancel or amend promotions without notice.
Canvas and easels are excluded from discount codes unless otherwise stated.
Special Offers & Advertised Prices
Some items may be offered at special prices for limited periods or limited stock levels.
Offers run until promotional stock is exhausted or the promotional period ends.
We reserve the right to cancel or amend offers without notice.
Workshops & Classes
The following terms apply to all workshops, classes and creative sessions delivered by Local Art Shop Ltd.
Booking & Payment
Workshop places must be booked and paid for in advance, either online or in store.
A place is secured only once full payment has been received. Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Age Policy
All resin workshops are strictly for participants aged 18 and over.
We operate a Challenge 25 policy. If you appear under 25, valid photographic identification may be requested.
We reserve the right to refuse entry without refund if acceptable ID is not provided.
Cancellations & Transfers (Workshops)
Due to preparation, materials and limited capacity:
• Workshop bookings are non-refundable.
• You may transfer your place to another person with at least 7 days’ notice.
• No refunds or transfers will be issued with less than 7 days’ notice.
• No refunds will be issued for non-attendance.
If Local Art Shop Ltd cancels a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances (including illness or low attendance), customers will be offered either:
• A full refund, or
• Transfer to an alternative date.
Health & Safety
Workshops involving epoxy resin and art materials require strict adherence to safety instructions.
By attending, you agree to:
• Follow all instructions given by the instructor
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Keep food and drink away from resin work areas
• Act responsibly within the studio environment
We reserve the right to remove any participant who fails to comply with safety instructions. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.
Clothing & Personal Property
Resin and art materials may permanently stain or damage clothing and personal belongings.
Participants are advised to wear suitable clothing. We accept no responsibility for damage to clothing or personal items during workshops.
Curing & Collection
Some workshop projects, particularly resin pieces, require curing time and may not be ready to take home on the same day.
Collection arrangements or postage options will be explained during the session.
Minor variations, bubbles or surface marks are part of the handmade process and are not considered faults.
Photography
Photographs and videos may be taken during workshops for promotional purposes.
If you do not wish to appear in marketing materials, you must inform the instructor at the start of the session.
Limitation of Liability (Workshops)
Participation in workshops is voluntary.
We cannot accept liability for injury or damage resulting from failure to follow safety instructions.
Our total liability in connection with any workshop shall not exceed the amount paid for the booking, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
